The Economic Section of the VvS+OR aims to promote the economic statistical research in the service of science and society. Under economic statistical research is defined as the empirical approach to economic problems in theory, society and business with statistical tools and way of thinking, i.e. the search for ways to make meaningful statements about the economic reality (and hence the effectiveness of certain measures) and the results of this study. (Article 2 of the Rules Economic Section VvS+OR).

Activitities Economics Section

The Economic Section aims to organize an afternoon lecture twiche a year. The first is in spring on the Annual Meeting of the VvS+OR, and the second in the autumn. The first reading afternoon, will focus on the use of statistical techniques in economics. For the second afternoon, a relevant social theme is sought after, where statistics plays an important role.
