Join the VvS+OR, become a member!

Membership types of the VvS+OR to which future members can subscribe are distinguished in individual membership and corporation membership (commercial and non-commercial). The biggest difference between these types of membership is that corporation members have free admission to all sections of the society, whereas individual members have free admission to one section of the society. Further information on the membership types can be found below.

Individual Membership types: 

Ordinary member
Ordinary membership of the VvS+OR includes subscription to one of the VvS+OR sections, to the  VvS+OR-mailing list for announcements, to Statistica Neerlandica, and to STAtOR. The costs are  € 90.00 per year.

Senior member
Members and future members at the age of 65 years or older qualify for senior membership. The same conditions as in the case of ordinary membership apply to senior membership. Ordinary members at the age of 65 years automatically become senior member. The costs are € 45.00 per year.

Young members
Members and future members at an age younger than 30 years old qualify for young membership. Young members automatically join the Young Statisticians of the VvS+OR. Apart from that, the same conditions apply to Young membership as for ordinary membership. The costs are  € 45.00 per year.

Student members
Full-time students in their final year(s) of their study and first year Ph.D. candidates qualify for a temporary free membership. As a full-time student a maximum of two years of free membership can be attained. An exception is made for the first year Ph.D candidates. Independent of his or her previous years, the first year Ph.D. candidate can have one year of free membership. Student members do not receive any of the VvS+OR's scientific journals, and automatically join the Young Statisticians division. For the rest they obtain the same services as those obtained by ordinary members.

Extraordinary members
For an extraordinary membership the members of KIVI and NIVE are qualified by covenant. Besides the subscription to one section, extraordinary members receive the VvS+OR announcements by the mailing-list. Any journal subscriptions are not included. € 45.00 per year.

Sections:

 Subscription to an extra section costs €10.00 per year. These are the sections of the VvS+OR:
• (ECS) Economics Section
• (BMS) Biometric Section
• (NGB) Netherlands Society for Operations Research (Dutch)
• (SWS) Social Sciences Section
• (SMS) Section Mathematical Statistics

Members who subscribe to the NGB section as a first choice will receive OR specturm instead of Statistica Neerlandica as a default.

Membeship Fee Discounts

Members who do not like to receive a scientific journal by the VvS+OR receive a discount on their membership fee. Ordinary members will have a discount of € 25.00 per year whereas the young, senior and extraordinary members will receive a discount of €12.50 per year.

If you authorise the VvS+OR to draw the membership fee from your account you will get a discount of € 2,- on the invoice.

Corporation Membership

A corporation can become a member of the society for  €180.00 per year. This particular type of membership includes subscription to all VvS+OR sections, the  VvS+OR-mailing list for announcements, to the scientific journal Statistica Neerlandica, and the journal STAtOR.  

Other Subscriptions

The VvS+OR also offers subscription to the VvS+OR mailing list, or STAtOR, or Statistica Neerlandica to non-members. A subscription to the VvS+OR mailing list as well as a subscription to STAtOR costs €40.00 per year. E-mail to admin@vvs-or.nl if you wish to to subscribe for the VvS+OR mailinglist or STAtOR.

Membership will be prolonged automatically (also for student members that will have to pay a membership fee), unless you cancel your membership in writing. Statutory, cancellations must be received before December 1 at the following address:
